This week started with the excitement of the demolition of our basement. We (well, Mike) finally finished the plans for the new basement design and we had 2 guys come out and remove pretty much everything so that we can start over from scratch and do it right. Its a big renovation, but we're excited. A few hours after the demo was done, the Stuckey's arrived for the night before our trip to Virginia Beach. The drive the next day was probably the worst weather we've ever driven in - torrential downpour and thunderstorms nearly the whole way. Thankfully, the weather was awesome once the vacation started. Every morning on the short walk to the ocean, Austin fell asleep in the Ergo carrier and napped very soundly while we enjoyed the beach!

Austin loved his hand me down floatie for our beach house's pool, and didn't seem to mind that it was pink! |

The only downside was that Austin started getting a cold while we were on vacation, so we had some late nights trying to get him to sleep when he was super congested. A middle of the night trip to Walmart to get a humidifier and some saline drops seemed to help a bit, but the poor little guy had some rough nights! Thankfully he was a champ during the day and seemed to have fun!
