This weekend we headed up to NYC for a long weekend. Friends of mine from Penn were hosting a mini reunion at their house in NJ on Saturday afternoon. The last time we went was two years ago, and now there were 4 new children to add to the festivities! Like last time, we took no pictures...but nevertheless it was a great time. We had probably Austin's most outrageous nighttime scream-fest on Friday night at our friend's house on the way to NYC. Orajel didn't seem to calm him down, so finally we gave him some tylenol and he passed out. Still not sure if its teething or something else, but we nervously await bedtime to see what his mood will be. He's switching up his daytime napping at daycare and sometimes only naps once or twice a day (from 4 in the past), so those days he's particularly tired at night and doesn't seem to have any trouble getting to sleep.
Before leaving on our trip to NYC, Mike and I both took a day off to relax and celebrate our anniversary (a week late). We intended to play some golf on the eastern shore, but the weather was crazy hot so we ended up hitting some balls at the range and then taking in the view at an awesome dock bar on the bay . With no babysitters nearby, we really enjoyed our day off together!!
Since we've both been to NYC several times, we opted out of the traditional sightseeing, and just enjoyed two days of city living. We strolled through central park and had drinks at our hotel's rooftop lounge (with view of the Chrystler building):
Cooled off in the Trump building by the huge wall fountain:
The next day we took the subway (Austin's first NYC subway ride) and had brunch on the rooftop of the Gramery Hotel before strolling along battery park and heading home.

To top off the big weekend, we returned home and started trying solids this week! He only ate a few spoonfuls, and I'm pretty sure he burped up a good portion of it 30min later. But, it was a success for his first time. We made oatmeal with formula and he didn't spit it out or cry at all. Lots of happy smiles and lound happy 'talking'.
