Week 6

Sporting my first cloth diaper at the pediatrician's office
This weekend, Austin turned 6 weeks old!  All in all, it was a pretty good week.  We had our 1 month pediatrician appointment on Tuesday and Austin grew 2 inches (now 23") and is 11lb, 14oz!  Such a big boy.  We noticed that he's nearly grown out of his 0-3 month clothes already.  We adjusted the car seat shoulder straps since he seemed a bit squished down and he now fits alot better.  We also ventured into cloth diaper world since he's not big enough to use them.  They were surprisingly easy to use, and look mighty cute - although they make his little bum much bigger than a regular diaper so I think we're going to have to break into some bigger pants!!

In other news - he's still sleeping really well at night.  For at least a week now he's slept 5-7 hrs straight.  Last night he made it from 9:30pm to 5am without waking up.  We are quite pleased, and hope that he can keep it up.  He's mostly fallen into a nice routine of eat, nap, play, repeat...although he's still the happiest napping in my arms making it hard to get much done during the day.  We also successfully got him to take about an ounce of milk from a bottle...looking forward to pumping more and getting him to take more bottles during the day so that I can get a break!!

We finally signed the daycare contract this weekend to start mid-June.  Our provider, Pratima, invited 2 other moms and their babies over for lunch today to meet Austin.  While it will be difficult to return to work and leave Austin with someone else, we're glad that we found such a nice in home daycare nearby.

Next week - Austin's will attend his first birthday party.  Our friend Becky is having a party for her 1 year old on Saturday.  Should be fun!
