Loving DC

Two weekends ago we had the excitement of my friend Marissa visiting us from Philadelphia! I hadn't seen Marissa since she visited me in Phoenix over a year ago, so I'm very happy that she's close by on the east coast! We had beautiful weather that weekend, so we opted to head into the city without too much of a plan - a great way to explore. After having a delicious brunch at a rooftop cafe, Tabaq, we walked around the Capitol and the Washington Monument.

Looking out at the Washington Monument:

I copied this photo idea from a friend of mine who noticed this old sign at the white house:

All in all, we had a fabulous weekend and I can't wait to go visit Marissa in Philly! After Marissa left us on Sunday we decided to take advantage of what might be the last warm weekend to bike down 'Beach Drive'. Beach Drive goes into DC through Rock Creek Park, but on weekends they close the road for bikers, runners, etc. There were tons of people out, and despite me taking a little spill part way through the ride, it was pretty incredible. (And yes, Andrea --these photos are part of my mission to convince you that you'd love DC!)
