Unlike alot of people who opted to save on gas over Memorial Day weekend, we filled up the tank (a few times) and took quite the road trip to the northern part of the state -- one last area that we wanted to see before moving back east. Of course, it was just our luck that the +100 degree weather dropped ~25 degrees making the higher altitude that much colder. We never expected to camp in Arizona in the summer with blankets and winter coats -- believe it or not, we encountered snow twice on the trip! Anyway, we thought we'd share some pictures from the trip -- we hit up Flagstaff, Lake Powell, Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelly, and the white mountains before heading home!
Here are some of our favorite shots:
Camping in Flagstaff on our first night:
Taking a boat tour on Lake Powell:
Horseshoe Bend (near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon):
Monument Valley in a rain storm:
Take a look at a slide show of our trip. If you click on it, it will take you to the picassa web photo album so that you view it bigger and slower.

wow, I am way jealous. DC for work for the 8000th time was really no comparison for a memorial day weekend trip
